How it works
Three steps, about a minute.
- 1
Take a close-up
Hold your iPhone about 2 cm from your eye. The app finds your iris, guides you with gentle taps and takes the shot when it's sharp. Or pick a close-up you already have.
- 2
Get your free reading
Your colours, measured from your photo, and what makes your iris yours: the ring around the pupil, the pattern, the little marks.
- 3
Get the 4K portrait
Pay once and it's made in about a minute: a 4K macro portrait of your own iris to save, share or print. Add your other eye, or make a Duo with someone you love.
The reveal
Watch it open.
While your portrait is made, your close-up waits behind an amber ring. When it's ready, the 4K portrait opens from the pupil out.

Before and after
Same eye in, same eye out.
Your portrait follows your iris: its colours, the ring around the pupil, the crypts and freckles, with the reflections taken out. Drag to compare a real close-up with the portrait made from it.

FAQ
Questions
Is the portrait a photo of my eye?
It's a portrait made from your photo by an AI image model, at 4K. It keeps what makes your iris yours: its colours, the ring around the pupil, crypts, freckles and pupil size. Reflections are taken out and fine detail is filled in, so it's an image of your iris, not a photograph of it.
Which iPhone do I need?
An iPhone with iOS 17 or later. It works best on iPhones with a macro camera (iPhone 13 Pro and later Pro models, and iPhone 16 and later), held about 2 cm from your eye. Other iPhones and imported photos work too, as long as the iris is sharp and big enough; the app tells you if it isn't.
Is the reading really free?
Yes. You get up to 3 free readings every 24 hours, and photos that need a retake don't count. You only pay if you want the 4K portrait.
What happens to my photo?
Only the cropped close-up of your iris leaves your phone. It goes through our server to Google's Gemini API (paid tier) to make your reading and portrait, and it's deleted as soon as that's done. Your portrait waits on our server for up to 7 days so it can reach your phone, then it's deleted. Nothing is used to train AI. Details are on the privacy page.
Does it tell me anything about my health?
No. irisma describes how your iris looks in your photo. It isn't medical advice, an eye test or iridology.
What is a Duo?
Two portraits put together as one image: your two eyes, or your iris next to someone else's. You choose the layout in the app: side by side, overlapping or stacked.
What if my portrait doesn't work out?
If a portrait can't be made, your purchase is kept so you can try again with a new photo at no cost. Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com, and we're happy to help at support@irisma.app.
Do I need an account?
No. There's no sign-up and no login. Purchases go through your Apple ID.
